Ontario Refinery Up-for-Sale as Shell Canada Seeks to Tap Into Asia's Energy Needs

An Ontario refinery is up for sale as Shell Canada seeks to focus on its $31-billion liquified gas projects in British Columbia, a new project that aims to focus on Asia's growing demand for heating and power-plant fuel. The Sarnia-based refinery produces 72,000 barrels a day and is the smallest of four plants (Waterton, Jumping Pound and Caroline) in the province of Ontario. Husky Energy has also previously announced its plans to sell its share in an Ontario refinery.
